What all years will interchange as far as the front drum/hub goes on a 56 Ford Mainline? I am going Saturday to pick one up and it is missing a drum. Any help is greatly appreciated.

According to my Hollanders 55/ 56 passenger, sedan delivery and Thunderbird only. That's not a lot of options, good luck with the hunt.

Well poo. That does help. Thank you very much. I want to keep this car stock, so I will have to find one.

The hub is the issue. I have a Galaxie parts car and it uses the same bearings. I may see if I can use it.

If you were closer I can get a bunch of them at a couple old junkyards.

I am going to pick it up this weekend. It is rough, but it is mine. Jeff, I wish I were closer. Brakes are my first priority.

I am having an awful time finding one. All I get is that I should swap to disk. Not on this car. Keeping drums, keeping 14" wheels.

55 Fords came with 15" wheels only.

14 inch wheels arrived with the new 1957 design.

So my 56 should have 15s? I will have to look closer.

A 1980 Jeep Cherokee uses the same shoes as your Ford and has the same 5 on 4 1/2' bolt pattern the drum part number is a CENTRIC 12363021 see if NAPA can cross ref it and bring the one you have to compare. They run $32.79 at rockauto.com

It is home. It is super rusty. It will need a lot of sheetmetal work. The driver's side door and the hood may be unfixable. After it is all said and done I have $150 in this car. If anyone knows where a door and hood are let me know. [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

Certainly is rusty and crusty but the price was right. I sure wouldn't mind having me a 55 or 56 Ford.

I am going to start a build thread on it. The car is complete with the exception of the front drum, rear seat bottom and radiator.
