  10. 20170209_085328.jpg I got rear frame lowering brackets today. Super high quality heavy cast pieces! Can't wait to get them on! 20170209_085338.jpg

Does it come with any instructions for welding or say that it's forged Steel? Just curious.

  12. It came with installation directions but no instructions for welding. It's only supposed to be welded at the rear crossmember and bolted to the frame rails. I'll add a pic of the instuctions today.

Thats what i was wondering, you might consider brazing them onto the crossmember or read up on pre and post heating if you are going to weld them as the cast will have a tendency to crack along the weld if it cools too rapidly.

LOOKS LIKE THEY OFFER A SERVICE TO WELD IT TOGETHER ON ANOTHER AUCTION.
LOOKS BOLTED TO THE FRAME AND WELDED( OR BRAZED ) TO THE CROSSMEMBER
THIS IS A COOL BUILD , GOOD LUCK!!

  19. Good point! Will do!

  20. The seller describes the parts as steel casting; should be no problem welding them.

  21. That's good to know! I'd better get to it so I can post some more progress pics.

Cast steel didn't even cross my mind, but makes perfect sense. Carry on....

After seeing this build I am rethinking about NOT selling my 27 T sedan. This is exactly the thread I was looking for to help with some inspiration. I am subscribed and cannot wait for how this is going to look like in the end.

  24. Thanks! I'll try not to disappoint.

I thought you were switching to a model a frame?

    Keep it up!

  26. I just didn't have the heart to give up on my T frame. I'll be saving the A frame for the next project. I wanna build a Model A closed cab pickup next.

  28. Naw. Too heavy. I have seen reproduction Model T accessory pick up beds that they sell through Snyders but I think I could make my own easy enough for way cheaper.

  29. The back half of a Model T Touring Car body doesn't weigh anything. Don't let the weight thing influence your choice of how you want your car to look/function. Think about how you will use the car and build it accordingly. Back seat/pickup bed/gas tank -- what works best for your vision of the car you want?
