Brother Winfield is one of my automotive heros. Some of my car gang the South Omaha Turds were able to work with Gene chopping a shoe box Ford a couple years ago. Probably the greatest experience in our automotive history. He is the coolest dude. And having the thrill of him flagging us off at the "run what you brung" drag races at Salina's KKOA event. Ultimate iron man ranking up there with Bill Hines durability, first class all the way.

The age police been looking for G.W. for a long time. He just is always one step ahead of them and thankfully so.

I drop by his shop some times. Nobody in the shop can keep up with him! I talked to his business manager at Gene's get together last year and he admitted that Gene runs him ragged and he is almost 30 years younger than Gene! If you ever get close enough to Gene, look very closely at his rear pants pockets. In very small embroidery it says "the Real Energizer Bunny"!

Sometime if you ever get the chance, ask him how he stays so young. Guaranteed to give you a smile.

  12. Since I'm not likely to bump into him-- can you let us in on his "secret"?

Also, my great uncle is 94. Felt like a pussy last year when he quit selling firewooder- that he split. Some people are amazing that way.
Me, I intend to die in a blazing ball of flames shortly after they take away my drivers license.

    FSW,

Amazing how some folks can keep going and never seem to loose much on their fast ball. Kudos to your great uncle; always good to know you have a chance at the longevity gene!

Just to be clear it would sound so much better coming from him, however at the GNRS last year Gene informed me that he had a diet rich in something most men like. A quick hint is that you mention it in your post regarding your great uncle.

Great guy to shoot the breeze with!

Met him on three different occasions. Each time he was friendly, interested and fun to talk with. Truely an all star!
