  1. Isn't it funny that the different marks used different names for the same color?

I have always really liked Pontiac Coronado red(sp?) as well. Think that one was Pontiac only? But Honduras Maroon and Buick Titian red arent the same color.

George when the 37' was restored 10 yrs ago the paint store did not have a mixing chart for the 56'
Chrysler blue, so the guy had them mix it the 56' De Soto blue color and it is not the same either

  6. Stock color and paint scheme for 32 Chevy ... Bordeaux maroon and black and according to the Fisher body tag on my car this was the actual color of the car when it was new

I didn't actually look at Desoto, but there are several really nice blues in the '56 Chrysler and Dodge colour chips. '56 Dodge Garnet is another cool colour, it would look really good on a fat fender car with lots of curves like a '37 chevy or '40 ford coupe. For a while, I was thinking about painting my '39 '56 Dodge Garnet. Mopar had some really bright colours in '56.

My 64 Biscayne. Not only the original paint color but the original paint after this car was stored for over 45 years.

I won't post the pics, that way Ryan won't close the thread, but one of my favorite GM colors is 1968 GM Tahoe Turquoise. Look it up, it is a beautiful metallic teal, Camaro color. Accent it with white top, interior, etc. I have had 4 cars painted this color, still own one of them. Crazy cool color.

The strangest one I have personal experience with was a 74 SD 455 TA that I sold that was Carousel Red...which was the exact same color my 69 Hugger Orange camaro. How Pontiac decided that was "red" is still a mystery to me.

No pics, but I just got to see a 1950 Ford Pickup with slight lowering and some older reverse wheels painted in 1949 Ford Fez Red. There also used to be a Fez Red 1949 Ford that would attend the local antique shows up here and I really liked the color. It is fairly dark (Google it!) and was a one year wonder. It has probably become one of my favorite colors for red hot rods. It's not a bright "Look at me" red. It is just gorgeous on an older or traditional rod or mild custom. It really contrasts well with chrome and makes it stand out a bit more than a bright red would. I don't have a real car in need of paint, and if I put it on the minivan, I couldn't post it here anyways. I might buy a bottle of it and use it on a model just for kicks.
