Features 1940 and 1939 Deluxe Fords.......Lets see em!

I posted my '40 in the 76th anniversary thread, but thought I'd post it in here too.

 

I saw your car at the turkey run. It's a sweet ride! My dad and I were in the black 39 Tudor in the HAMB parking.

 

After owning my 1939 Ford Deluxe since early 70's and parking it around 1979, I finally gave it to my oldest son. We shipped it back to Illinois and hopefully he will put it back on the road.
Left NW Florida in 90+ weather. Got to central Illinois in rain, snow, and sleet in below freezing weather.

 

30TudorSedan, that is a beautiful coupe! ModelT1, that is really cool. I bet the car will have to get used to the climate change. It looks like your son has a great foundation to start with!

You got a build thread or some suspension/tire/chassis info on how you got such a mean stance & beautiful proportions

My old 40. New owner said he may sell or would trade for a 1932 5W coupe!

Thanks! It's running a narrowed nova sub up front with narrowed fatman control arms and an ECI narrow trak disc brake setup, with cut coils to get it sitting right. The rear is a parallel leaf setup with 2" blocks and a 1" c notch. Tires are 195/65/15's on 15 x 5s and 235/75/15's on 15x6s in the rear. Hope that helps! It drove great going down the road!

 

Put up some progress pics in Oct/14, so several finished pics now...........have 2,800 mi on it already......

I thought this thread was for Deluxes not Standands. JW

 

1940 (no distinction) and 1939 (Deluxe only) -- so a '40 Standard is included. '39 Standard (which is a very different looking car) is excluded.

Heres a 39 roadster I had. Yes a roadster. Ford Australia built 50 with no windows in the doors and a different shaped roof.

This is my good friend Pats 40. This was his first car. He was only 14 years old, in 1957 when he got it.

 

Here are a few more close up, and detail shots. Great guy and 40 too.

 

I love stories like that, Ron. No matter what life has thrown at him over the years, he's held onto that Forty for 60 years. Sweet car and obviously a determined owner.
