    Tony,
My car is a '39 coupe turned convertible hence short doors. Stude windshield and side glass/ vent windows.
Your top must have been extra difficult to simulate the top bows. The whole package just looks right.

OP, didn't read all post (but will!) does your top lift off? Thanks for taking the time to show how it's done, great looking build, will be stealing some idea for the top for mine........................

I'm not the OP, but it's my car. Yes, the top is designed to be removeable, although I don't anticipate having it off very much of the time. A major reason for making it in aluminum was to keep its weight down, making it (I hope) easier to remove and replace.

The bad news is that it's about twice as heavy as it was in bare metal now with all the insulation and material added. Still easily removed by two able bodied individuals.

I'd like to publicly acknowledge Don and his guys for their execution of the top. I'm sure I was an old lady/PITA about details of the windshield and the shape of the top, and the Highway 99 guys kept at it until everybody was happy. The whole point was to make a fake convertible top that looked like Ford could have made it that way, and to avoid any of the strangeness that often happens around the windshield and door tops with decapitated coupes.

And, of course, Sid's covering of the top is really convincing. I expect that many people will look at the car and not immediately realize that it's not a folding top. Many thanks to all involved!

I've never thought in "pinch me" terms, but it's not far off. It's very strange for this car to be steadily growing closer to what I imagined 10+ (!) years ago, but happening a couple of hundred miles away so that I only see it in photographs. It has taken such a long time that my excitement has to be tempered, toned down. I can't stay in a perpetual state of excitement, but it does ramp up each time I see a significant new development in a photo. It is kinda hard to imagine that I will get to drive it within the month, and take permanent custody of it not long thereafter.

While I have been able to provide some creative input on specific details of this car, it is Tony's design and his vision. I don't have anything anywhere near as involved as this up my sleeve and I don't think Tony wants to embark on another project anytime soon, if ever so, unless someone else steps up and wants my team to do a project bigger than this, this will probably be our best effort for the foreseeable future.

I am very proud of how this is turning out. Tony has always been great to work with and all of us who have worked on the project have all stepped up and delivered our best.

Most of the finishing details we're working on right now don't change the look of the car much for progress pictures but, here's a fresh view of it with a few more trim bits installed and it sitting in the sun.
