I have been looking for a nailhead for my coupe. The 322 I have ended up freezing at some point and has a cracked block. Went to check on a nailhead for sale and ended up with two 264's and a 330 desoto. Now plans have changed again and I'm going to run the desoto.
The desoto has a air cooled powerflite. Are these worth rebuilding or go with an adapter for a newer style tranny?

No, I'm hoping the desoto will check out ok. If not I should have enough to finish the original nailhead.

I have a 291 Desoto thats destined for a future project. Im adapting it to a Ford toploader. I would recommend you use something besides the orig Desoto trans. Because Im sure parts for the trans is even harder to find than parts for the engine.

I sell all the complete DeSoto hemi engines I can find to local DeSoto club members.
They sure seem to want then as they will pay more than local hot rodders.

Cool, thanks I'm new to the early hemi stuff and I don't know anything about the trannys.
