Hi, I'm new to the whole forum thing, but I have a '61 Unibody that has been in my family since '68 and I have owned it since I was 16. I bought it from my uncle and my dad and I did a 3 year frame up restoration. I rebuilt the 292 with the 4 speed but eventually pulled it all out and sold it and put in a 302 with a C4 from a '68 Galaxy 4 door. Unfortunately it has been sitting more than driven and enjoyed. I need to do some repairs and would like to do some updates. I would like to find out more info on the rarity of this truck being the first of the 3 years with the short box and big window. Does anyone have any info they can share?

Little update on my cousin's 1961 posted above. In under a year and a half he did what he set out to do and drove it to his graduation this past weekend. Couldn't have beaten the smile off the bugger with a stick.
Pretty stoked/proud of the guy. From field truck with no drivetrain to on the road with a 390 and toploader in that time is an accomplishment for any of us let alone a 15/16 year old balancing life, school, farm life and work.

  9. Not sure how I missed this thread, but here's my '62 as seen in my avatar.

He's plugging away at it. I picked up some old Cal Custom valve covers in Portland and he polished 'em up and swapped 'em for those chrome ones, looks mean now.
