Larry Tisdale: Thanks for clearing that up. I last saw Bruce a number of years ago here in Florida when we got together but I knew that was not him in the picture. Jimbo
You don't see too many 64-65 Buick drag cars...64 Grand Sports ran B/S with a 401 nailhead and ran C/S in 65 with the same engine.
photos of our car we ran 1968 yo 1972 , was national record holder in I/S at 12;20 on 12;23 old record
Rumblegutz, car was a 1958 283, 4 speed or automatic depending on where we were and who else was there running in our class
Drag race really super Vette. Although I never saw your car run I can say that I am a real fan. Spent a good deal of time with a good friend in 68 and 69 with his 61 Vette 283/270 HP. Got hooked on old Corvettes back then and never been able to shed my obsession, I suppose. The junior stock Corvettes were as much fun for me to watch as many of the gassers etc. Super competitive. Your car ran right on the record and you know why it ran so well. The 250 hp had the more sedate camshaft from the factory and were you using factory grinds? What gear(s) were you using? I know firsthand how hard it is to run the numbers you did-pretty amazing. Other than the human factor why do you feel your car was so competitive?
TommyD: I wanted to thank you for all the great Junior Stock photo's you post. Each one brings back wonderful memories for me and I really appreciate your hard work. Jimbo
Yea I thought about it but some people don't like me "wasting bandwidth" by putting it in two threads.
Back in the mid 60's the Stahl / Moroso deal only lasted for between 1 or 3 years but the memories from that period lasted a life time. Jimbo
Not sure what class this 55 ran in. Jr. Stock or MP? It was owned by Earl Edgington of Peoria ILL. Does anyone have more info on the car?
