Everyone has a scrap pile, I think we can agree on that. I'm currently building a car that consisted of me digging through scrap to build a body, which left me with a scrap pile of my own . A friend went digging through that and is Putting this together.

He usually builds motorbikes, but decided to have a go with a car. I think his total build is under 500$ at this point (thats like 63$ american). I am stuck at home with the flu, and figured this is a good a way as any to spend some time.

Lets see how long it takes him to find his own build thread, since he lurks here often....

That's a man I can get along with, someone who takes cast offs and makes something really nice out of them.

    We... are the ultimate recyclers...
and this roadster pick up will be a fun car...
being a biker he will find it reasuring to see his front wheels while riding...
sedan doors on a roadster pick up will make getting in and out with a top a breeze... of course he may 86 the top idea...
... can't wait to see what is built from his leftovers... weld on !

  10. Pretty neat roadster pick-up construction. Know it's a truck; but kinda wonder how that trans is gonna work out.

Glad to see the world has plenty of parts piles, [needed more than ever]...
from 1982 to date I have had [239] 1928 to 1934 ford bodies, 1/2 the car or more to count... the other haves were taken off, cut off, rusted off, torn off and even shot off...
Favorite scrap pile story was from 20 years ago, a buddy took pix of our local parts piles, then emailed them overseas to some Britts, they drinking warm beer and identifying the parts in the pile... bloody good show 'ol bean !

$65.00 American only buys a fancy meal for me. Wish I could come up with $65.00 worth of that kind of scrap !

What were the brackets that were made into the windshield posts?

Guess he still hasn't found it, the body consists of 3 sedan/coupe doors (that were missing the bottom 6")and a very rough 28/29 closed car cowl. The rear perimeter of the body is actually pieces of door window frame that were cut off by some one else. Since he used A pillars as B, he mounted the doors suicide on the stock hinges.

the windshield stanchions are Harley soft tail rear frame pieces that were cut off a project bike years ago.

I find the whole thing pretty interesting (enough so that I made him a build thread)

He's gonna be pissed, nobody's gonna offer him any money for it now!! As I tell my wife, "one man's trash is another man's treasure." When it comes to certain things she doesn't really get it, but she loves me anyway. Great Build!

No such thing as "junk" when you build hot rods!
    They're extra parts.

Since he won't update the thread..... my phone doubled up two pictures somehow

  27. $63 USD bought all that?! I've been getting ripped off for years!!! Seriously, what transmission is that, though? Is that one of the 4-speed top shifts Ford had in trucks in the '80s?
