Will a smoothie rim bolt up to a 8" inch Ford rear end?

    Thanks

    um....

    what's a "smoothie rim"
does it have a bolt pattern?
what is the bolt pattern on the 8" ford?
    are they the same?
    .........

bolt pattern on most 8" is 5x4.5, some were 4 lug. Most early ford wheels are 5x5.5 pattern, so .....no

yup... most 8" rears were 5 studs on a 4.5" bolt circle... not 4.5" between them [myth]
ford, merc, lil' lincoln, amc, mopar, vw, volvo ... bunch of car makes used the 4.5" BC...
smoothies fit whatever they were drilled to fit...

There are bolt pattern adapters. They are 1/2" to 1" thick.

Some beginners call the 1940 Ford style wheels a "smoothie". Some call the cheapo chrome wheels with no vent slots and the small ridge around the hubcap a "smoothie". What do you mean in your post?

A '40 wheel will not fit a 4.5" BC (probably most 8" rearends had a 4.5" BC). There are some of the cheapo chrome wheels that have the 4.5" Ford pattern though.
