Great score dude...Hard to believe that thing was on CL for over two weeks before I saw it and nobody snatched it up before you... I was praying you were going to pass on it so i could wire him some money!!! I asked Joe to give you my number if the rust ended up being a little too much and wanted to sell it.. Missed it by HOURS!! Keep posting progress on the build!!

Maybe you could bring a leaf blower to the site to help clear away debris to unearth any more bits.

Not like it's a big deal or wasn't on CL for all to see but I'd rather not.

Thanks. I was wondering if the "other guy" was a hamber. Small world. I'm planning to keep this one but in the process of finding parts and parts cars etc I'll message you if I find another coupe for sale

Nice score Adam. New England is brutal on these abandoned cars, she ended up in good hands.

partsdawg, as far as what else was rotting away there; Lots of antique trucks. Many antique tractors. 50s and 60s cars with some prewar cars sprinkled in. I posted a couple pictures in the sitting and rotting thread. The only pics I took and posted are ones I asked the owners permission for. I told him about the hamb and that if he wanted to sell stuff I'd help him post here in the classifieds but I'm going to leave it up to him out of respect for his privacy.

I like the leaf blower idea. Also a heavy duty magnet on a heavy string/light rope drag around the yard in a grid fashion. What looks like level ground could just be a valley that is covered with twigs, garbage, stuff - you'd be surprised what we have found. B pillars, hinges, hood latches, ornaments, trim, mirrors, handles - even a decklid and hood sides.

Good on you for having the courage and vision to save a car that many others couldn't. Does it still have the V12. They are the coolest motor hot rodded.

The v12 is long gone. It had a flathead v8 in it from early on Im told. The mounts for it are still there. I mostly wish I had the zephyr transmission which is gone also.
It might get a v12 but in reality it'll probably get a flathead v8. I've been kicking the idea of a caddy flathead around but right now I need to spend my cash getting my 34 done then it's on to the Lincoln

Maybe you could find a Lincoln flathead v-8 - they were used in big trucks as well as cars which might make them easier to find. Not as many aftermarket parts for them, but still a possibility.

Hey Adam, great to see somebody else who loves the old Zephyr's and isn't shy of a little work.
I was in your shoes around 4 years ago. Check out my build thread below for some inspiration mate, not that you need any once you actually own a zephyr just looking at the flow in the body is enough inspiration.
Subscribed to this thread fella, looking forward to its return.

    Paul.

^Paul, I read your thread front to back then checked it out again when I picked this one up. You did an amazing job with yours. It'll be a while before I get started on this one. Hopefully it'll come out half as good as yours

I did and Thank you for the heads up. I'm strapped for cash right now trying to get my 34 done so Zephyr parts have to wait unfortunately. Though as far as problems go I'm not complaining.
