Very reminiscent of the Alumatub years ago built by Marcel Delay for Boyd.

I get a twinge of Lil John Buttera here. Nothing wrong with that, IMHO.

  3. I think it demonstrates great skills and I'd like to see more pictures of the details. It fits. Now let's paint it and drive it!

Two and a half men lifted it off the cart and set it on stands. Thinking it will be around 1500-1900 lbs when its done.

Beautiful work on the truck. HRP

  11. Pretty cool and dedicated build, although it needs that little aluminum nailhead engine.

@Aluminum1929 Brushed aluminum is nice but have you ever given thought to polishing this thing either entirely or selectively?

  14. Dang- those are some serious fabrication skills and a great eye for design you have going on there-don't apologize - it's not like you're building an aluminum Mustang to show off here

Bob Galbraith from Newport Engineering was telling me I should polish it too. I'm kinda partial to the brushed finish look...and I'm too lazy to buff around all those louvers.

I wasn't crazy about some of the stuff Lil' John did, but you have to appreciate the thought and execution of things he did. Some of the small brackets and clamps he made were just amazing.

    Is the frame aluminum?
I had a chance to buy and aluminum frame years ago, but I was worried about the durability and strength of an aluminum frame on the street.
