    Hey everyone....

Well I wanted a driver that I could tinker on while I drive it. As I have couple old projects but between overtime, customer rigs, and life I just haven't had time to finish a '39 truck I have.

So I started doing some searching on the ol 'list and found this car......it caught my eye immediately and I thought was a really decent price.

    So here it......
    '54 Chevy 210
Stock 235 with dual carbs and Fenton headers, so dual exhaust for the 6 banger bark
    3 on the tree
    White interior
    A lot of body mods
    '56 Packard tail lights

I was told it's out of San Diego and then moved up to Seattle a couple of years ago. It was painted and assuming? Built in the 80's

Anybody know this car? Would love to find some history on it 00r0r_f42kKQ5DeI_1200x900.jpg 00Y0Y_fuIVGHF6Euh_600x450.jpg 00Q0Q_609GMN1Bnrz_600x450.jpg

    Thanks guys....

so far my plan is only minor things. chrome bumpers, looking for a rear bumper guard thats in nice shape, going to put disc on the front ( mainly because I want to update the bearings and I plan on making this my half daily driver), rebuild the suspension, lil things but mostly keeping the car as is because I love how it looks. to me it reminds me of a late 50's custom from what I can tell from the magazines

Definitely. The car has good lines. So much so that even with painted bumpers, I didn't immediately hate it! Haha. I don't say that often. Enjoy that car!

If you want the late 50s look, that car doesn't have it,yet. You'll need chrome bumpers, Wheel covers (instead of those rims that are currently on there, which is more of a mid-60s look) and lose those triple lake pipes (a single open style one will look better).

Yes chrome bumpers will be by next week, and I was thinking about when I go to 15's I will be changing hubcaps, I wanted to pull the side pipes off but they are molded into the front fenders, maybe changing those would give it a different look

you can buy new side pipes, but with one outlet instead of three and it'll be good replacement. Don't forget to post pics as you make the changes.

  15. I like it. First thing I thought of, was chrome bumpers would finish it off.
I don't mind the goofy pipes, prefer single outlets, but also prefer functional, but that's just me. I don't care if I burn my ankles, haha.
You did good. That'll make a great driver, with very little work.

A hi-school friend had a 54 Black 210 with the split manifold and dual ex thru the side pipes. Yes the ankle burners but here 50 years later are very fond memorys of that car and times .Yes to the chrome bumpers NO to any other changes. Drive it and enjoy it as is I wish it were mine.

So I wanted to upgrade the front brakes and wheel bearings. So I bought a kit for the stock suspension as I don't care to graft on late model ifs stuff

So then I moved onto upgrading the master cylinder. As I removed the clutch linkage stuff I noticed some wear on a few things so instead of buying new I figured I would just weld them up

So here they are welded up

I bought a master cylinder and bracket from Chef's of the 40's as they are only 10 minutes away from me which is nice.

When I put the pedals on the bracket I wasn't happy with one of the spacers that holds the clutch pedal on. It was a lil long so I spun it on the lathe and made it fit a lot better. Also had to die grind the holes out a bit to get the master bolted up which sucks but oh well I guess.

I just came in for some lunch about to head back out in the shop to wrap this up
