Shapes for day on the skirts now! Big thanks to Paul Garland. Have to redo my mounting tabs then I'll post a picture of them on the sedan.
Sorry Mo, been super super busy. Relocated, getting adjusted to new job and such. But I do have a big update! The sedan will be going up for sale really really soon. My coupe might even go up for sale, we will see about that one. I just got done making the deal on this.....
Some guys just can't make up their minds.. Eric, you sure do know how to keep us watching here.. lol. Do this ('scuse the Ford sheet metal): Dave
Man that's a heavy chop, don't think I've ever seen that one. I think maybe I just ought to find a sedan and long door coupe to complete the stable....
Mo windshield is chopped three inches, recessed plate, tail lights in 41 Merc bumper guards, original drive train, cal custom dash inserts, flattened rear cross member, and dropped I-beam. I haven't really made up my mind yet on direction. One idea involves fadeaways and the other is mild, but both involve a flowing padded top.
The only example of a Merc with fadeaways I can think of is Peter Stengel's CoachCraft built masterpiece. But it seems a lot of work ($$$) for an already beautiful car. It looks like your new Merc was being built just for you. I love it already! Congratulations on a fantastic score!
Is the car home yet? Have you seen it up close? Did the seller have knowledge of the car's history (I wish I'd asked)? ..I'm very excited about this one (as if you couldn't tell!). Dave
Dave car isn't home yet, actually some exciting stuff....Glendale is doing me a solid and picking the car up for me and taking it to Paul Garlands. Going to have Paul reshape the skirts to the car, shorten the hood side trim and one piece the hood while its in California. The seller hasn't shared any history on the car, didn't ask, but I will.
Update from Garlands on the vert....Bumper changed Lincoln/Merc combo, hood one pieced and 15's on the rear are now 16's....stance is spot on now. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Eric, i don't see you 'round here as much as I'd like. I've edited out most of this post,...I'll just let this one ( '40 Ford) do the talking!
Yeah Mo' been taking a break. That east bay more door is one fine looking ride. I would love to keep all three Mercs, but got to thin the heard to have a completely finished car Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Well its official I am down to one 41 Merc. I am keeping the convertible. Thanks for following along on the thread, it was fun bringing the sedan back to life. Few last pics for everyone. Most likely the last post I do on this thread.
I hit the "like" button for the above pics and vids and the fact that you will be going forward with the convertible - not for the fact that the other two had to go.. :-( Dave
