I saw your ad, I am interested, any chance you can post a pic of the back side so I can visually verify they will work with my setup?
I am away from my shop right now. I will send you a pic when I get there. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
What is different on your wheels vs the standard wire wheels? Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Very nice, and I have only a sense of how much work goes into these. They look great. I talked to a friend of mine about designing a flathead blower intake, 3D printing, casting etc., but he's not a car guy so he's only kinda sorta interested in working on it. You're not far from me... see where I'm going with this?
Here is the ad in the classifieds. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/custom-mercury-knock-off-style-hubcaps.1048644/ 4s2q put this link in your signature line and it will show up in all of your posts.
I guess I am not sure on that one. They weigh the same as a Veda Spec cap, maybe someone with a set of those can weigh in.
Are you supplying the ford caps with each purchase? Are we responsible for gluing them to the ford caps? Btw.. Cool thing you are doing... I use Pro/E creo in my daily job...
I am running the adapters on artillery wheels that allow me to run these wire wheel caps... I was curious if yours were the same as the Cragar caps I have now.
Thanks! Yes they come with the Ford caps also bolted to the back, my pics do not show them however. I run Solidworks by day and Pro-e Creo at home.
4s2q, are you familiar with the Alloy Avenue Network? I know we have some members from Rochester. Your price doesn't look bad, but I don't own any Mercurys. LOL I have patterns made for my Autocar's hubcaps, throttle pedal and mirrors, (made the old fashioned way) but have only poured the pedal. happy with the way it turned out. (Not cleaned up in the picture)
Correct. I don't believe Mercs had left and right side hubcaps just so the dude was always looking forward.
They look great and you've done fine work. I'll have to buy 4 of them and then find a merc to put 'em on
Correct the casted part and the guts of the repro cap are bolted together. The pics Correct the cast part and the hub of the reproduction cap are bolted together. The attached pics show the parts minus the bolts. The little tabs on the back of the wings will have a thru hole that will allow the caps to be wired to the wheel spokes if desired.
Got mine coming! Have you polished any of these yet? Just curious what it would look like. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
