I can now finally catch a breath and share what has been an amazing weekend. Our little club, which is really just a bunch of mates, River City Coupe and Roadster Club, spent the last 12 months putting in the planning for this weekend. This is a labour of love for us, and to get the support from not only the entrants but also from those not on the run has been incredible to say the least.
So, we started the weekend with our customary Friday night pre run party, held at the Australian National air museum, this night gets bigger every year. It's open to everyone to come and enjoy, this year having the f100's playing added some great music and atmosphere.
I was pretty busy over the weekend so credit to pics goes to a lot the guys posting on Insta, you know who you are.
Anyway, here's the pics from the Friday night.

It was a bright an early start the next morning for the running of the reliability run.
We were privileged to have access to one of the finest private museums in the country, owned by Terry Dowel, it not only houses an amazing car museum but also an incredible collection of enamel signs, memorabilia dating back to the turn of last century, an Art Deco inspired cinema and library. This truly is a collection of world standing.
Here's a few pics. Once again I've borrowed from instagram so thanks go to the photogs on the day.

This shot from Rhys Gilbert taken from the second story of the museum. Once the main driveway was full we directed cars into the court. Love this pic, not staged.

Looks like an awesome time, and truly a world class collection in that museum.
    Is that a real Tucker?

So we started of for our first leg at around 10.30, getting to the township of emerald. This is the end of the line for puffing billy historic steam locomotive, a great backdrop for the checkpoint.
Lunch provided by the local Rotary club.

After lunch we headed for our second leg, a run to Healesville, no pics from that stop. Just a relax under a tree and cool drink. From there we headed on our final leg to the finishing destination, the home hotel at Launching Place. On this leg there were 2 alternatives for the route, one encompassed a section of dirt road and the other sealed.
    Most chose the dirt.

We award a spirit of the run trophy each year.
This award recognises efforts that go above and beyond to make and participate in our run. This year it went to Dave cook and his partner Lee. Completing a major rebuild on their model a coupe literally hours before the run they are deserving winners.

The next day was a quiet Sunday breakfast, a great morning and great turnout, thanks to the vultures cc for handling the cooking

Great coverage dude, that was the first River city RR I've participated in and must say it was very well organised.
Terry Dowels collection was fantastic we could have spent the day there and been happy.
As for the run itsself I don't think I've ever had that much fun in a car with my pants on.
The event overall was a 10 outta 10 for me I'm still on a high.
Thanks heaps Thommo and the Rccrc

You guys over there are having way too much fun,, thank's for sharing. But I got to say that the doco is a real blast from the past for me. As an expat I remember that great times watching Peter Brock and buying Speco speed equipment just to be like him. Cheers

IMG_2410.JPG Thank you to the RCCRC, this run is a credit to all involved. It was a mission and I have some repairs to do after the run but I would do it all agin in a heartbeat.

  25. Well what weekend it was, thanks so much to all of the RCCRC guys, this is without a doubt my favourite event every year. Although a major part of this weekend is the Saturday drive, I also really enjoy meeting all the like minded guys on the run and talking hotrods, this event creates that atmosphere that is really relaxed and casual which also makes it so special. I will post my pics as well on here and I am sure some will be double ups but hey I don't think anyone will complain!
