"tractor" pp does NOT have counter weights

  2. I believe he is referring to the 42-47 1/2 ton PU rear end. It's a banjo type rear end but open driveline

  3. Will have to ask/ make sure, as they are with and without.
By searching on ebay, I found, that the used ones, out of a Ford 2N/8N/9N tractor, is usually pictured with the counter weights.
Most of the new replacement is not.
... not that that makes it deffinitive!

    Keep 'em kruzin!

Are those AC lines I see on the right side? I almost said passenger side, even though left hand drive.

is anyone running a quick change on the street ? just got mine together (derek/judy) and it has a wurring sound . not a ring & pinion noise . I figure it is just more gears turning . help appreciated ............ steve
    * small model a center .

  15. Steve I've never run one but always heard about the quickchange whine. I think its just part of the charm

  16. Some are more noisy than others. Depends on the clearance, backlash and gear tooth angles on the spur gears. Mine has one rpm range where it really sings. Whirring would be nice!

I put a Kiwi QC in last spring, love it. So will you.
Like Tiny said: "it's part of the charm", due to the straight cut spur gears.
    Have fun!

Yes John, A/C, Tilt column, cruise control , Column shift Torqueflite auto, 8 inch diff, twin 81's, full pressure, 4 bar front and rear, disc/drum brakes, coilovers. A wild mix of trends, but boy oh boy what a nice ride, and a beautiful motor set up. Was guy out of Visalia who built it and he deserves the credit.

What sort of OHV set-up is it. Cant quite make it out. Riley 2 Port??

  22. hey, got my head back from being cleaned up. The top is primed,. It will sit for a month or two in my house. Is there anything I need to put on the combustion side (light coat of oil?) to protect it?

a light coat of oil will protect the chambers & surface from rust

  24. was probably a stupid question... was more wondering if there was something other than oil. Probably not since it didn't rust the 6 month in my basement before they were cleaned up.

Looking to add a Stewart Warner tachometer to my 1931 Model A banger, does anyone have some ideas or part numbers? Looked around and there are a metric shit ton of options.

That would be a TWO port, at the intake is on the right side. FOUR port, the intake ports are on the left (driver) side.
I have 4 port pictures of head showing ports with altogether different intake.

Yes, I have had mine (Kiwi) model A type, on the street for several years now. Quiet as a mouse...too quiet !

  30. Yes I know the Carb is backwards in the photo...... What would be the operating effect of adding a spacer between the carb and the intake to make more room for headers. Headers would be wrapped to reduce heat transfer. Thinking one to two inches.
