These two parts were amongst my box of interior parts. I have no idea where they go. ( in my defense It's been 15 years) The holes don't seem to line up anywhere. They're about two feet long and an inch and a half wide.
Scuff (sill) plates would be over 3 ft long and about 4 inches wide made of aluminum . These are steel.
Too short for sill plates ,plus sill plates are flat ,no curve up. Although I have only done a Victoria.
I think they go on one of the raised edges in the cargo area of a wagon, like on each side of the spare tire well or on that lip right behind the back seat. They might also be caps for the top of the tailgate or tailgate hinge covers, or on either side of the tailgate latch. I'm fairly sure they are not for any of the passenger car applications.
Thanks Squablow... I think you're probably on the right track. The vehicle is a wagon, so I'll check the back area.
Looks like the tins that hold the windlace in place between the dash and the floor along the edge of the kick panel. I don't recall anything that looks like that at the back hatch or tail gate area, but it's been a long time. HRP
It just doesn't ring a bell with me,could the parts possibly be from another car you guys have done in the past? HRP
I'm just gonna put them back on the shelf. I don't think I'll miss em.they certainly don't look very important.
Just for sh!ts and giggles,I'm gonna post them over on the '54 Ford site and see if we get a hit. HRP
My car is "boxed" there, the floor goes all the way to the edge of the rocker, making the rocker fully boxed. No covers like that
Looks like the trim that holds the windlace by the kick panel down by your feet. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
If they don`t go by the front doors, and if we are talking about a station wagon. Do they go under the rear hatch for the same purpose.
Ford wagons of that era had a 'covering' over the interior wheel wells, usually made out of a linoleum-like material. Those trims look like the escutcheons to retain the covers at the floor.
I've never taken a 54 Ford apart (so I may be totally off the wall), but could they be stiffeners for a door card?
having done a frame off of my 54 almost 40 years ago i can say they are not from 54 car.yes I realize yours is a wagon but from b pillar forward parts would have been the same.I think as Danno said possibly from a project from a time long ago.
