I'm not reading ANY boost pressure on the guage.

    - Guage works ( tested via blow into line )
    - I was on the freeway the other day, nailed it WOT and nothin:confused:
    - Line is hooked up to intake manifold main plenum

It underdriven now, but it should still read like 5lbs at WOT loaded.

    Any thoughts?

Sounds great. What size rims and tires are you running in the rear?

Killer ride. Never too many tri 5 Chevy Gassers. If it were mine I'd radius those rear wheel openings. Just my 2 cents.

Got the property (4 acres); still working towards getting my parts list filled ; planning on building my shop possibly this summer, so it may be next year before I can hit the track

In the meantime, I cut a nice little circle track just big enough for a few karts to run side ny side or one model A to run hot laps!!

A few updates - bought the property and have been working on the house pretty much non stop since my last post, hence no posts LOL. Anyway - I'm back on the 55. After driving it a bit, I found that the front single cylinder piston calipers just didn't have enough stopping power. Scary really for discs. So I upgraded to some 4 piston Wilwood calipers and 11" rotors. Honestly, these parts just don't look right on the car, but I'm a big fan of stopping. Scored a new to me 9" 4.11 with a locker, ordered up a 56" 9" housing with currie axles and 11" drums from speedway. New 10" steel wheels, some other odds and ends and electronics (rev limiter, 2 step, and shift light)

I'm in the process of doing a spring relocation and wheel well widening to allow for larger meats, the 8.20 Firestones just weren't getting the job done.

Anyway - I'll try to post up as I go.

Still haven't got the "shop" built, I just gave my garage an overhaul. That was a project all on it own. Widened garage door, tore up Lino floor and painted concrete, painted, etc.

  23. Nice to see this thread pop back up, I went back about 5 pages getting refreshed on it. Back in 2011 I told you to send me that blower, I'm proud to say I have since built a blown 540 of my own. 20160310_162925.jpg

Axles, housing, and rear drums showed up. Got the 1/2" studs pressed in tonight; sometimes the simplest things seem to take the longest time.

    Still contemplating ladder bar lengths.

Check out the pic of the 31 spline axles next to the stock 55-64' 17 spline axles.

    Axle / Wheel test fit.

All is good. Pictures don't show, but I have about 2.5 inches on each side of the wheel. I'm confident that 13" section width street tire will clear with room to spare, a squishy fat slick on the other - we will see.

Parts are getting here faster than I can work on it.

30x10.50x15 Hoosier drag radials. They measure 29" tall, with a 12.5 section width and and 10.5" contact patch ( mounted on 10" wheels at 30psi)

I needed a tire with minimal sidewalk flex in order to maximize contact patch and not rub. Also wanted to be able to use these tires to drive around town on, but didn't want a DOT approved tire.

I found these non DOT lightweight drag radials. Pretty interesting concept really. You can run these on the strip at around 20psi and they won't flex and or grow like a traditional bias ply. In researching I've found guys running in the 8's and 9's easily. A lot of guys like em because they run consistent times, they're really sticky and have better overall stability due to being able to run higher pressures.

Don't confuse these with a cheater skick, these are legit slicks, but in a radial format. It will be interesting running them.

Back on it. Inboarded springs 3", all new rear end parts/ suspension, started on inboarding wheel wells.

I spent almost all day stripping undercoating around weld areas... err..
