    Chicago's International Ampitheatre, they held just about everything there. Ringling Bros. Circus, the Chicago Auto Show, rodeos, trade shows, political conventions (Cook County- vote early and vote often) USAC Midgets, and more.
    I was never there for the drags, IIRC it was 330 ft. and yes, the shutdown was through sets of doors, but they did stop inside.

    I surprised Arnie with this photo about 45 years after it was taken. I crewed on a fuel altered at the time and we were running at Cordova, IL for the World Series as was Arnie with his remake of the blown '63 Tempest, he said he had never seen this picture before. Scan0014.jpg

    Sorry about the thread hi-jack, yes, I do know the difference between Gas class and A/FX

    I remember seeing another photo of Arnie in the wagon at the same event, but it was farther away, and more from the rear.

  12. True. BUT, very few were in use. I remember when the first Corvette FI units were modified.

    late models" please, try for 65 or earlier!
