Tech: How to safety wire

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by officerfalfa, Oct 16, 2007.

  1. Did plenty of safety wiring during my years as a B-1 bomber crew chief. I don't miss it! It does work great when done correctly.

  2. My days of using them George are done and have a couple others in reserve just in case.

    "Regular" is normally "304 stainless".
"Inconel" used in the "hot areas", and not the preferred elsewhere.
    Just my experience!

I learned to safety wire at Boeing. After I got laid off I kept the pliers they issued me.

Harbor Freight has the identical pliers.
