  2. The blue `41 Ford conv. looks like they did when I was a kid, neighbor had one then left the war. I wanted it bad.

Ran across this thread discussing the difference s between tail dragger and lead sled. Here is my candidate. Is it a taildragger? Has no bags just air shocks. Is it a lead sled? I did a majority of the bodywork in lead. Whatever it is this is the way I remember the cars from the day. I'm 75 now so I can remember the 50s and 60s. Had this Chevy since 66 and finally got it the way l wanted. Dave Jenkins 57 was an influence. Sorry to hear of his passing. 1483998377730.jpg

  5. Hey Von Brush, love the ragtop--I'm sure Dave would be flattered as you did a great job on your car. It would have been really cool to do a feature of your car with Dave's together for a magazine like Kustoms Illustrated. Two of the nicest '57 Chevy customs in the country.
I just read about your car in the Kustom Kemps of America 1980-1992 book. Neat that it was featured in there. E

my 39 ford. chopped and channeled. lowered with blocks and cut coils. rides smooth. drags some. all seems filled and corners rounded. I call her Nadine from the Chuck Berry song. 39 rear.JPG 39 side.JPG

thanks to all. a kustomizer named Bill Roark started the car years ago and he allowed me to buy it. I had to pass all the tests. ha. he was a great guy. the dash is a cut down 51 ford. my door poppers are the dash crests from a 51 also. 39 front.JPG 39 dash.JPG

Here's my taildragger bought off fellow hammer last year. Replaced rear main, freez plugs and been driving the hell out of it. I love this car.
