A friend of mine just gave me these pics from June, 1991. Steve T , Glenn T and I all took our 32 's to the drags to see who's was the fastest. Needless to say, Steve won hands down with his Ford blower motor(plus he was the only one running slicks that day.......).

Did you race a 350 Kawasaki in the early 70's up there?

    Jimmy,
Any pictures of the Hairy Canary '64 Comet?? My uncle was the driver in the 60's and I'm trying to compile as many photo's as I can. I don't know if they made it up as far as New England. Mostly raced ETown and ATCO. The car in it's original config was the "McCoy Mercury" and is up for auction at Mecum on Jan 14th.

How about a yellow 55 Chevy called ambrosia?

  14. I'm looking for some of a 55/56 Chev. Blue sedan delivery. It was raced by my friend and while we were in Nam his father sold it on him. Damn was he pissed when he found out. 327 375++ hp.

Love this post, I was hoping to see some pictures of the first generation Camaro called "the Alcoholic" I believe it was run by the DeSouza family from the New Bedford MA area.

I went up in the mid 70s quite a bit. I remember a 55 Chevy "Mighty Mouse" I believe the owner was Mark Marchand

I thought the "Alcoholic" was a blue '63 289 Falcon with injector stacks set up like a gasser....

    Could be wrong

    Gotta find those pics....

It's definitely a Camaro [IMG] doesn't mean there wasn't a same named falcon. This car sat for years and the owner wouldn't sell, then like so many other stories right guy, right time and it was gone. Would like to find its new owner. Hopefully restoring it !!!

    Alright..Here we go.

    Lots of pics to view.
Really brought back memories of the days gone past.
    Some things never change though..
The saying back then after you were called to the staging lanes was...

    "Hurry up and wait"
This statement still rings true to this day no matter what track you are at.

Pics are in no particular order but there are some real goodies here..
Hong Lee's white Camaro that he probably still runs to this day..
Pics of the first Nitrous Nationals when the track went IHRA...
    Little of this..
    Little of that...
The pic of the G/G car engine
shot was the car I thought was the Alcoholic but alas it's not...
Even a picture of myself circa 1973!
    Geeshhhhhhh what a difference..
    So on with the pics!

    Last but not least..
I see some pics are still small but that's OK..
Please forgive me but these pics are pics of pics because my scanner is on the fritz...

    Me in '73..
Plus how many of you remember this gas station on Rt 125?
We used to joke that "If you put this gas in your truck you can hear the bagpipes playing shortly afterwards"...
    Note the price per gallon!!!!

    Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
    Good times.
    Would'nt trade this for anything! IMG_3710.JPG IMG_3705.JPG
