Why do I keep getting thread alerts every time somebody starts a NEW thread?

I got them when I had the app on my phone, once I uninstalled the app the alerts stopped.

Never get 'em, and it's a good thing because I see a bunch of 'Reverse Erectile Dysfunction Now' threads started every night. Maybe it's just me.:(

Dunno, I never look at those threads, too busy reading more important stuff, like The Stigma Of Bondo.

  10. Are your settings set to 'Watch Forum'?

In the top left corner, hover your mouse over the forums drop down tab, then click 'Watched Forums'

    Screen Shot 1.jpg

It will bring up the Watched Forums page.

    Screen Shot 2.jpg

Does it list any forums? If so, there should be a checkbox next to them. You can click the checkbox, then click the drop down menu, and select either disable or stop watching. Then click Go...

  13. I jinxed myself on this thread. Last night, I received an alert for a new thread being created. First time ever. And nothing in my settings has changed since yesterday.

I've seen a lot of older threads brought to the top the past few day's could that be the reason? Joe

  20. If you're working from a desktop or laptop, have you tried clearing the cache and cookies in your browser?

If you're using a smartphone or pad, well, I'm not too hip about how that system works. But there seems to be issues sometimes when using the HAMB app. They seem to work better using the phone's regular browser. And there's probably a way to clear cache and cookies there as well.

Well I signed out, cleared cookies, all boxes empty, I'm doomed still get them everyday.

  22. Are you working from a desktop or laptop? Windows or Mac? What version?

What browser are you using? Has it been updated recently to the latest version. Internet Explorer usually works OK but I've had it act wonky on me occasionally. You might give something like Firefox or Google Chrome a try. Have you recently added or changed any other hardware or software?

Like I said earlier, if you're working with a phone or tablet someone else is going to have to jump in here. I'm out of the loop... o_O

Anyone know how to stop this? Mine just started today. I have threads that I watch and enjoy reading. But every new thread is a problem.

Interesting. I haven't been receiving any alerts, for a couple days now, even when a watched thread has a new reply.

Nope, I had same problem on app, Samsung s5, suddenly alerts everything, & a little bell up top with 99+ alerts.
I changed my preferences, logged out, logged back in.
Seemed to quiet a majority of them. But before, I'd like to be alerted to my subscribed threads, just like PMs within the App, only when I open the App. Not within my phone alerts like I just got a text message.
I don't know if it's a new version or glitch, but I wish Ryan or some moderator/programmer would undo that annoying new glitch on the App.
