Kinda partial to black XLs- original paint 500XL 406/405 6V car, currently a 427 , C6 w/ 4K converter and 5.14 gears- kinda froggy, and one loud mofo
Over the years I have owned 96 cars. Some nice some beaters and some just plain old grey 4 Dr sedans. There are a few I wouldn't mind owning again but I owned a '63 Galaxie 390/4 speed and foolishly sold it and a few years later a '64 Galaxie 390/4 speed came into my life. It was beat from what appeared ding a quarter mile at a time most of it's life. I went through it bumper to bumper, drove the snot out of it a loved every moment. Then I said goodbye to it when I built my '48 sedan delivery. Those 2 Galaxies haunt me to this day and someday I will find just the correct replacement and cause my family grief when I die trying to find a casket big enough for me AND the car because there is no way I will part with another '63/'64 Galaxie fastback again!
Yeah, I was supposed to sell the 64 to pay for the 63, but I am not to good at selling. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
A buddy bought a 63 4 door in high school (1987) for 50 bucks. Reverse didn't work but who cares when you got 5 friends in the car. We beat the hell out of it over several weekends. At some point he wanted to cut the top off so we did. EPIC! It was white so the big Rainer Beer style R that was painted on the hood looked real good. Oh the good old days...
I have a left fender, a right door, and some various trim bits from a '64 XL I got from my next door neighbor. Maybe build one one piece at a time. I really love big Fords with round tail lights.
