Funny that you should pair my Tudor with Swifty's coupe, I took these shots at the 2015 Melbourne hot rod show

Thanks for the pics yblock32, that was the year that I had the t-bucket in the show for the 50th anniversary. Didn't realise that I had parked behind you, just happy that I was able to get a spot.
BTW what trans are you running behind the Y-block?

Yes, it's luck of the draw when trying to get a park at the show sometimes.
    I've got a FMX behind the Y-Block

    Thanks for the replies guys.
Dave I really like your tudor and Peter's 5W. They are both great looking hot rods, that sit so right. I knew they would look great together on a cover.
I wasn't going to do a cover today, but I was inspired. The beach shots work so well. There are so many hot rods I could place on those beach images I took in the south west of Western Australia. I think this cover will go down well also.
Thankyou Gary, I am glad you like that cover; so do I. Something I really like about the old covers and the one's I am doing, is their simplicity as compared to modern hot rod magazine covers. You check out the newsagent these days and so many covers look the same.

Thanks Geoff for the kind remarks. I built it to what appealed to me, so your comments are appreciated.

The photos outside the show were taken on the spur of the moment as I was leaving the show. What prompted me was the fact that both '32s were of similar styles and showing off somewhat unusual early engines.

Years ago when I built the A coupe ( now just down the road from Tony) Storks '30 Sport coupe made a huge impression on me. It's great to see it still looking so good.

    Thankyou for the replies guys.
I hope everyone had a nice Xmas day. Was very quiet here. Some of my family and time to reflect on those who are no longer with us. Simple but very special.
    Here's a quick cover I just did.

I haven't played around much with black and white or sepia tones on the covers, but I think I might play around with them a bit more. Here is my first serious effort.
I think this cover with Chris' roadster is as neat as the one of it on the beach!

  15. Love the sepia and monochrome covers, they fit in well with the original magazines.

The first couple of years, Hot Rod magazine's covers were black and white with the red Hot Rod banner.
But you are right FB, I think the black and white as well as the sepia tone add a whole new perspective to the covers. I also have to look differently at what images I use!
OK here' another. Once more a '34 roadster! It imakes use of an image of one of my all time favorite roadsters.

I hope I haven't overdone it with the black and white covers?
Here you go Tony and Tom, a trip down memory lane.

I found this great yellow coupe in the full fendered thread on the HAMB. So whilst I seem to have been concentrating on '34 coupe the last few covers!

No problems Tom and thanks for sending the images.
Natasha, Tom and the boys brought the roadster down to their new home yesterday. I went out to give Tom a hand to unload it and generally talk about the direction this hot rod will take!

Here at The Magazine Of the Mind publishing company we are always trying new things to maintain the interest for those that may be watching this thread.
They say that necessity is the mother of invention and in this case it is so true. I wanted to use either of these images on a cover, but I just couldn't get one to work by itself on a cover. So I decided to try something very different and came up with this concept. I really like the outcome and may use it in the future!
I hope it doesn't mess with peoples heads to much.
