Is this your chassis? I'm thinking of doing something similar...flathead with all A front and rear end.

I found this thread while looking for ideas for my coupe.
Here are a few pictures of my Dad's roadster frame.

 

Been waiting a long time to post here

 

My '32 frame modified in the traditional way (mid fifties period is what I was aiming at.) Narrowed to take a '27 T roadster body. Front of chassis then has to be bent back out to get the original width at the front. '34 style centre crossmember. I had an original model A front crossmember in the front but wanted to go lower and did not want to cut the centre out of a perfectly good crossmember to lower it like it would have been done back in the day so made a new one from two pieces of 1/4'' steel. seemed like a good reason to detract from totally traditional methods.







Its not that easy to get stuff here in the UK so some compromises have to be made or fortunes have to be spent.

The rear is kicked up without cutting off the original metal to help get it lower and then I boxed just the rear kick up.




Dropped my own model A axle






Recently had it painted and started assembling it last week.







I am building a complete and accurate new body for this from sheet metal.

 

WOW!!! Very nice work, you are a true craftsman and "traditional" is building a hot rod with your own skills and the materials you have to work with. I am always amazed at what someone with skill and vision can do. You are keeping "tradition" alive brother!

 

Excellent Mindover. Where abouts in England are you? My brothers in Oxford and my father is off to visit, I reckon he's like to look at your stuff if you're close by.

First off ,I have to say that all of the contributors to this thread do unbelievably great work!Looking at all the beautiful Chassis's and cars has inspired me to get going again on my 29 roadster project. These are early fab pictures.I'm a little further along than these pics(body is mounted ,motor is mocked,chassis has tires & sitting on the ground) I had some guidance from Ed in germany on how he builds his chassis's so these arent View attachment 3579956 all my ideas ,I hope you enjoy & Thank You Guys for all the inspiration & help! This is a shot of what I am running under my 3 window build.

My '34 chassis with '48 "X" member model A front x member & '36 rear x member. 303 olds adapted to '48 Ford column shift gear box & open drive '48 rear end.

 

My '30 roadster on deuce rails almost a copy of my '34 except I used an Olds rear end.

 

My '36 Ford I built in the 70's, again I used an Olds bit this time with a Hydro & a '55 Chev rear end.

 

My Model A on '32 rails, '32 front and centre, Model A rear cross member. Dropped 33 axle, 21 stud, 37 box, 39 rear on T spring.

 

Im getting close a point when I have to start thinking about putting a body on this one.
