I've tried Photoshop on this enlargement but I'm afraid the emulsion is too far gone (IMO) and the detail is a tough go for myself and Photoshop to faithfully reproduce. Perhaps a digital camera at a high resolution (300DPI) taken in Macro mode close-up might produce a better source photo. I'm up to the challenge but so far I can't do it without the results coming out really looking silly.

  3. Kinda reminds me of "The man with the yellow hat" from Curious George.

  4. Google image search might work, with a better picture.

Ha! It does! It's like a Rorschach Test. Everybody's seeing something different. It looked to me like a girl dressed up as a Pilgrim with a blunderbuss. That's why I thought it was from a New England college. Now it does look like a hillbilly. Are the colors gold and purple or gold and black?

    Found this from 1964.
It looks to be similar in colors and cartoon-like design. I realize it isn't the same kind of
hat, but maybe the artwork for both decals was done in-house by the same printer, possibly in Texas.

Sure looks like it has boobs and a girl hairdo. Sure it's not a cowgirl?
    Cool puzzle anyway.
