I just had this 31 Ford coupe fall in my lap last week. Body is going up for sale. I'm keeping the chassis and planning a TnA roadster. A period correct Gow Job with all pre war parts. The chassis will get slightly modified and basically restored. I'm keeping the mechanical brakes, A motor and drivetrain. Maybe a B motor and maybe an OHV conversion I'm not sure yet. The body will be a 23-25 Roadster body.
Great project. Mechanical brakes? Now that's hard core! My dad could have had one like that before the war.................
Yup. Mechanical brakes. I might upgrade to a little more modern brakes. 32 or a little later. Still mechanical though. For me it's the difference between drum and disks. Properly adjusted drums work great I saw no need to change on some of my other projects. Same with properly adjusted mechanical.
I've got one of those early turtle decks I've been saving and want to build something similar. Sent from my SM-G900T using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Looks good! great project.Be sure to go over Late to the parties thread on his early T build.Scads of good info there.
Got the chassis and the last of the extra parts loaded up and took them home. Research and parts locating are next. If we get some decent weather soon I hope to blast it all and see about the condition of everything.
