The good weather is winding down here so today the 56 and I went for a nice ride. Stopped by and old buddy's house to see what he has been up to since retiring. He was a body man and a big Ford guy. His projects have always been nicely restored cars. Well his current project is a cool 29 Ford being done in traditional Hot Rod style. Later we stopped by one of our old customers shop and checked out his 56 Chevy Sedan Delivery he is working on.
Did you sign this guy up for HAMB membership? That is a 1928-29 Fordor sedan from the hood tops back to the rear quarters, nice work for a restorer. Bob
got more kitchen cabinets ( free old wooden ones ) for the garage so I can get stuff off the tool boxes , benches and floor , so I can get the car home .
Moved my truck out of the garage and into my new shop. Started clear coating the doors for it and messed up, then i got mad and figured id see what was happening on the Hamb today. Starting to feel better already.
Split more wood for the shop & sold a old 48-55 Chevy fender Now have to wait on the $ The guy is looking for a Outside Visor Any one help ?
fitted a cylinder head to a bosshoss.tomorrow the inlet and the other head..another pair of hands needed tomorrow .a tight fit without splitting the frame. in two.steep learning curve.unlikley I will ever need to do this again.it would be a lot easier to work on if it had a flathead in it
Working on the frame for the "KROIL KREEPER" Built 327, with an Offy intake w/ 4-94's, 2 spd PG treanny, 10 bolt posi rear end. Intake built by "Old Rek" - HAMB member. ( It's like jewelry!!) Yee Haw!
I rattle canned Santa's Cadillac. Lawn art that I'm going to put a Santa in, and cover in Christmas lights. 1928 Caddy body.
Had a new modem installed, I have an internet connection again, four days without it was pure hell. Bob
I got the front fenders and inner fenders off the '54 Dodge pickup. As it turned out, it appears that it would have come off in one giant piece by removing about 7 bolts. It would be nice if I knew what I was doing. The problem for tomorrow is the rear fenders. Easy to do if one has an 8' reach like an NBA player. I will need to coerce the missus out to the garage and have her run a 3/8" air wrench in the bed while I hold the nuts. (Insert your own joke here).
Bob, I saw that AT&T did a video documentary on you and the family- wish they hadn't brought in actors... you're much funnier!
I rebuilt the gate into the side yard of the garage. Had a brand new gate to close it off built a few years ago, but a week after, the city changed the size of our garbage cans (the reason for the gate in the first place) Too wide for the brand new gate ! Finally now have the bins back outside the garage, more room for me and the project !
Spent yesterday in the garage replacing brake lines on my DD. First time I've used cunifer lines, nice stuff, will be using it from now on. No more steel lines for me. Managed to break my cheap parts store flaring tool. Pulled the threads off one of the clamping bolts. Fortunately it was on the last flare, and a C clamp got me through. But now I need a new flaring tool. Looking at the Imperial 195FC. I'd like the Eastwood, but can't justify the space in my 1-car garage for something I use once a year or so. Sent from my iPad using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Spent a good part of Saturday with the ongoing cleanup/organizing of the basement and garage. There is a lot more room now that things are boxed and packed away. Plan is to have project stuff in the warm basement for the winter.
-5 degrees outside today when I got up so.... made coffee and breakfast. read newspaper, laundry, vacuum carpets, drink a miller lite, check out the HAMB. no motivation to go outside today!
It has been a little cold here so I retreated to my basement and built wooden toys for some of the Family and Friends kids.
What i will do is go to breakfast with my friend Paul Straus the Pinstriper, take paperwork for my upcoming knee replacement to the doctor, take a ride with the wife to Vidlers 5&10 for gag gifts, and then back in the shop to detail the finned valley cover I made for my 303.Did you know aluminum can cut skin real well?? Busy hands,Busy minds.Stay focused. Everyone have a Merry Christmas!!!!
