Bay Area cars always seem to have a sanitary look that appeals to me, even when heavily modified. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/ramblers-san-francisco.610085/ http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/san-francisco-hot-rod-1951.414986/ This RPU has it....even with the deep channel. Bringing the cab and bed in parallel, makes this thing.
7" channel on a '29 and a full-height '32 grille, I love it. It looks right. I like the Lyon whitewall discs too, not sure I've seen them on a period pic like this before.
Probably channeled over a 32 frame, using the deuce fenders, tank, frame horn covers & grille shell. Mick
As a pre teen, 1967 to 1969 I watched 1 of the 3 channels we had... Saturday Night at the movies, Mom gave us 1/2 a paper cup of MnMs and 1/2 a paper cup of cocktail peanuts... I ate them watching the 1958 movie attack of the giant gilla monster... a B movie [or less] worst singing i have ever heard... but the kids all drove hot rods, they called them bombs, a T bucket, '32 roadster, '32 coupe, '40 coupe etc. ... the '32 roadster crashed into the monster with 4 jars of nitro on the seat... Gilla guts everywhere... I said then, I'm gonna have one of those climb in hot rods someday... in the summer of 1983 I did... a 1930 fenderless roadster pick up... .... what hooked you ? ............ 1948 ford car brakes out front...
You might enjoy seeing that movie again on Youtube: (And my grandpa's model a's hooked me) Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
