With some of the impressive systems and the vintage systems posted I'm hesitant to post my setup here, but I want to play too, so here's my 2 x 2 setup for my 283. I didn't want to do the same ol' 3 x 2 that so many have done, didn't need dual 4's, so I went with the 2 x 2 just to have something different and figuring it would have sufficient flow capacity for the engine it sits on. 20160126_142229.jpg

Flattyblowerosaurus, from ancient English meaning a forcefully air inducted, non overhead valve, V-8 engine. Circa 1949. Known to produce average horsepower after consuming extremely large amounts of cash to build.

This particular example is a 471 Navarro set up from the nice people at HandH Flatheads on a heavily massaged 8BA and fed by 3 97s.

Hey BB, can I call you BB, any idea what the $$$/cu. in. ratio is to achieve "average" hp out of a flat motor?

Blues4u, I don't see any reason for you to be hesitant to post that, it's a well thought out and executed set up, nice work!

I built a 4X2 intake with the crossfire intake from the 80s.
I milled out the egr ports and welded them up. Then I made a plate for the top and drilled it for 4 2 Jets.
I had to collect abut 30 carbs to come up with 4 alike.
I ran them 1 to 1 took some time tuning but when I got it it ran strong on the lower end but was a little lacking on the top end. I was thinking it was do to the small intake runners in the lower intake.
I have posted a picture of it on here but I can find it now.

I have been thinking of trying this with a vortec lower intake. They have a larger port and may be a better set up.

Rather mundane, but it works....goes fast, yet mellow in traffic, and purrs down the highway.

I run this 2x2 intake. It's a Weiand X-cellerator base with the top milled off and a divider in the plenum. Took a pile of carb cores to get the parts to build two the same. It's on a 62 283 and it runs great, really snappy!

  20. Never did get it right on the street. Guys are claiming to do it now, but they must know something I didn't. That's why the two holer didn't last long. Bruce Crower claimed his injection set ups would start without priming with a squirt can, but I never saw one do it.

Way too cool! A headache for the first sync set up I am imagining... But the visual affect is amazing.

I have one of these tops. Tried to sell it a couple times, no takers. I'd never run it on a car, maybe I will make into a lamp.
