Just picked this up for a steal.

    Original 240 CI Black Diamond 6, 4 speed granny-slow transmission, 2WD.

Currently has a stuck rear brake drum, and ancient tires. Hasn't been on the road since 1988. Fires up though and I "drove" it onto and off of the trailer.

More to come! If anyone has parts laying around, let me know. I need a couple.

Thrift...check out my profile pic.... that is when my grandfather's Travelall was new. My father and the guys would take it to the drags as a support vehicle. He owned an IH dealership back in the day. I know I have a couple of more pics.

Nice Travelall ! Used to do lots of clutches, rear window riser mechanisms, & wiring repair on them. All green wire with white numbers ..
They were mostly 304s & 345s up here, only a few pickups sold with 6s.
What year did the 1/2 ton IH get torsion bars ?

Growing up my family had a 68, 3/4 ton, 4x4 with the 345. Three things I remember the most was it was slowwwww, it took forever to put fuel in it( I remember my pops cussin every winter when he stood outside refueling) and it was the first vehicle I wrecked(14 years old driving to fast on gravel and sideswiped a log truck). I always thought a two wheel drive with modern drivetrain and lowered a bit would make an Kool tow vehicle. Nice find have fun with it.

"All green wire with white numbers".........I got conned in to rewiring my cousin's '62 pickup with a factory replacement harness. Drove me nuts, but got it all working. Why would they do that?

That thing is just screaming for a 392 heart transplant (and NOT the Hemi variety).

Find a good IH 392 and 4 or 5 speed and you could pull a 50' Camper with ease.

Nice T-all, I have a 1962 C120 T-all 4x4 and a 1965 1100 2x4 T-all panel. The t-bar suspension was from 1961-1973 in the 100,1000,and 1010 models parts for that chassis can be expensive and hard to find. They had different fully boxed frames vs the c channel frames of the 900,1100+ chassis. They also have smaller 11" drums vs the larger more common 12" drums of the 1100 series

I've got a Daily Driver for speed haha.

I'm looking for: Heater core, front bumper, rear barn door glass and the finish panel that sits under the front grille. Mine is rusted on the outside ends.

A set of nice hubcaps would be neat too, but that's pretty low on the list.

I want to say my '61 is the first year of Torsion Bars.. when they switched to the C series, the Travelall got a whole new chassis.

So far, I've got the oil changed, new tires, filled the fuel tank, fixed most of the door mechanisms, and updated the charging system.

First time on the road since 1988!

Put a brody knob on too... much easier to whip around a parking lot with one of these... lol

Still need to do the brakes (which I have all the parts for), replace the water pump (which I also have) and dimmer switch.. but as it sits, I can fire it up and take it for a spin.

    Yes!
