Projects ford bumpers

does anybody out there know if bumpers for a 51 shoebox will fit a 50 shoebox. thanks.

 

The bumper brackets are different and I am not sure about the splash apron.

 

My Crestliner has 1951 bumpers and brackets

 

Yea they will fit cause they never changed the car from 1949 to 51 and the grill and bumpers both have the same bracket. The only thing that changed was the grill and hood was changed in 51 and they added a chrome taillight bezel to the fenders.

The bumpers and brackets must be used together. My 50 bumper will not fit the 51 bracket because the bolt holes are in different places. The brackets of course will fit all three years cars frames but you must use 1951 brackets for 51 bumpers and 50 brackets for 50 bumpers

 

Good to know.. I'm in the market for a set of bumpers and to get my grille rechromed. Any recommendations on chrome shops in Texas ???

 

I got mine from the bumper guys at Pate. They are from California. I will have to go look at their card for their name

 

I put a 51 rear bumper on my 50 using 51 brackets. The 51 bumper is about 1/2 wider on each side compared to the the 50 bumper. The wider 51 bumper crated a gap I didn't like. It would be a perfect fit if the 51 bumper was narrowed a little. I switched back.
