Bobol, not sure you got the answer to "what is it". IT is the spare tire well that someone blocked oof with a piece of metal. In the original form the spare tire sat in there and bolted to the back of the rear seat. Ralphie

The chopp on a bis. coupe and a club coupe are a little different. The bis. coupe has a more rounded roof with more compound curves then the club coupe which is longer and flatter.

I don't mean to high jack this thread however, when talking about chopping a short door(bis coupe) I think it's unnecessary. For that period the short door has great proportions. Really no head hump like the long door, and the longer roof line of the long door makes a great chop. Like later ford sedans, 49-51, a mild chop gives the car nice flowing lines. I have a 46 bis coupe and a Fifty, I chopped the fifty 4" at the a pillar and 4 3/4"at the rear. In my opinion any more pronounces the big body. That said I wanted to chop the 46 coupe but I hesitate cause The lines are so proportional.

  10. It's been over 2 years since Bobol has posted on this thread. I wonder if he ever got his chop done.
