Hey! Thanks guys! I didn't realize it was an altered. My Dad took me to Pomona back in '61-63 and two memories stood the test of time - Willy's Pie Wagon and the Brown Bros Willys blowin' a trans or driveshaft out on the ground.
    I was hooked.
I wonder what ever happened to the Pie Wagon? Someone should recreate it, looks like an easy build.
Rick Abood's Black Thames was a South Bay favorite, everyone I know liked it.

That's the picture I've been looking for. My question is was this a Gasser or Altered? I'm guessing altered.

I've seen the LiL' Hearse on my Jackson Bros. Gasser files tape which is mostly Mid 60's to early 70's so I'm wondering when these trucks mostly ran. Is this an O/T thread?

  8. Gasser is a waste on that one. You got all that sitten room, build an altered out of it. ;) :D

  11. Been around these cars for 50 years and have never heard them called TIMZ. The correct pronunciation is TEMZ.
I have heard people call them THAY MZ though, but never timz ~ maybe it was a regional thing .....

Pronounced the same as the river - definitely regional - or person-to-person.
    I call them Thanglias.

Believed to be the Former resting place of the King Kong Thames....see body......was reported to be making molds off the body. Not sure if the body survived, rumors indicated it may be back in New York. anglia48-thamesproject8.jpg

By the way , in the UK they are called Fordson van. Export models were Thames and I think they had a 3 bar grill and small running lights on the front wings.

  29. We only has the 3 hole grille for about the first six months of 1948 in the USA. I think Australia and NZ had the 3 hole much longer.

    Don
I love the three slot Anglia grills.
There are two things I would have hanging on my shop wall if I could afford them.
Pines Winterfront for 32 Ford and an Anglia "three holer".
