Thanks for the update. Sucks about the paint on the Mearns coupe some sort of contamination issue? Interesting dichotomy between the music in the shop and the office.
Equal coverage... You are just as likely to hear Hank Williams as you are to hear DJ Quick on any given day. We love it all.
Cool shit, Ryan. You guys are living my dream.............well except for the surgery and allergy stuff.
Is that fever or fervor? Yeah yeah, spelling cops are out in full force At least you spelled glamourous the correct (Canadian/British) way. Now, about that music...
anybody who wanders around the world [internet] saying "Hell yes, i'm from Texas" deserves whatever happens to him. H. S. T.
Thanks for the tour. Yes you sound like a POS. Two years ago I started with a constant regime of Cold Eze. Zinc Lozenges. Don't laugh. They work! When I feel it coming I start taking one every three hours. Depends, I've taken them as long as two to three weeks. No symptoms for two years now.
Ryan, That B&W photo (red filter?) and your opening sentence are the best things I've seen on the internet in at least two weeks--undoubtedly more. That opening line is poetic. It's Beat, but poetic. Best, Pat Ganahl
Thanks Pat. Means the world coming from you. Yeah, I'm pretty stopped up at the moment... and I know there's a way to defeat that with my mic - I just haven't figured it out yet.
CUT! CUT! CUT! Where's the drama? The conflict? What kind of Reality Show are we doing here? From the begging PLEASE, and this time Ryan at least fall down, we all know you are too old for that board!!
^^^no shit...refreshing to know that not EVERYTHING in this world revolves around drama!!! Btw Ryan, is that coupe parked on a giant puppy training pad?? lol
The paint looks gorgeous... Then, you put it out in the sun and the paint starts bubbling. So much so that you can stick your fingernail in it and crack the paint off - sometimes down to the bare metal, sometimes down to primer. There are lots of theories on what's going on, but I think something used to clean in between layers didn't react well to the product. Keith thinks it might be the product itself (PPG). In any case, the painter has stood by it and he's in fine graces... Keith just wants to control it, so he's painting it now. I'll update the build thread tomorrow with details.
Skate board? I remember those days, back in 64-65, on a laminated Hobie flat board. Left a lot of skin and fur on the pavement, especially when being towed by a friend's Allstate. Over consumption of beverages probably contributed. Very cool video, shoot some more please.
Unless a common component like the hardener was used (and bad) on both the primer and top coat one would have to think it is some sort of contamination either a pre-wipe or through the airlines or user error as the chances of getting a bad batch of primer and a bad batch of paint are pretty slim. The top coat should not cause properly cured primer to fail.
