    Hello,
I'm restoring an old T-bucket and i need some information.

It has a 322 nailhead motor. I'm hoping to pair it to a 57' dynaflow transmission (i have one kicking around) Can I run this transmission open drive if I use a driveshaft with an external spline yoke?

Also, does anyone have a 3x2 barrel carb intake for a 322 nailhead they wanna sell?

    Thanks for the help,
    Patrick

  2. FYI, the bell-housing diameter for the 264" & 322" is a bigger diameter than the 364" 401" & 425".

Do yourself a big favor and spring for an adaptor from the nailhead to a 350 trans. It will save you headaces and money in the end.

Thanks for the help folks. Looks like an adaptor is the best way to move ahead on this one.

You may want to look at trailing bar suspension if the rear suspension is not completed.
Adapters for the 322 may be a little more money than the newer 364 because a flexplate is also included.

I used an adapter from Nailhead Russ at Valley machine to put a turbo 400 behind the 322 in the 31 Chevy and it was a great kit. Think about one of the AOD transmissions also.

If you're set in using DF, then you would need a 61-63 DF extension housing. It is set up for open driveline. Before that you had torque tube and if I recall, the transmission was sealed inside the torque tube, near the ball.
