  5. I like the shape of the '32 dash, so I built one kinda' like it for my current Model T build.

    Hello,

The most unusual dash that I have seen is one that made accommodations for a folding steering wheel on a T Bucket Roadster. The gauges normally would be in front of the driver, but with space being at a minimum in a T Bucket, these gauges were moved over in front of the passenger side. Actually, is was easier to see since it is clear of any wheel or obstructions. (Normal or not) This wheel flips up and toward the windshield for ease of access to the driver’s seat. A cool T Bucket.

    Hello,
I forgot to showcase the actual flip steering wheel photo I got from the Prowlers Car club in San Diego. upload_2016-11-26_7-32-23.png

I love dashes and think they are a very key part of the car, besides the fact that is what we see while driving our hot rods. Here are a couple we did, a 1934 Studebaker with original clusters in each dash, both function! The other is dash is in a 1948 Ford pickup, left side US and right side Australian 1951 Ford dash merged together.

Another dash we did in a 35 Plymouth, needed lots of gauges to keep track of the 500+ inch blown & injected Hemi.

does anyone have any pictures of a full stainless insert that went from end to end for a 32 dash?? my 32 that was built in 1960 (don't know if the dash was in it since then) had one. someone cut it up for a radio though. it has a small bead run around the outside edge of it. always thought it would look pretty nice machine turned.

This isn't just a dash, its like sitting in an upholstered pulpit at the hot rod cathedral looking out over the pipe organ at the congregation of the faithful. Very moving.

Personally though, I would always be turning the right turn signal on trying to drop the car into gear.

I like this gauge layout for '32's with a stock oval.

Dash with stock oval. Didn't keep the brass. Just an experiment in engine turning brass. Dash.jpg
