Thanks! Got some 18" wheels for the back and some tall firestones... but 18" wheels are TALL. Might have to to take a spring out of the back to get it to sit right

updates it is! here are some photos with the finished drivers door and wood kit almost finished! The wood parts are from united pacific and fit great like all their stuff. I'll try to get the car rolled out of the garage so I can take one of the whole car.

McFly, What do you call a response that is 7 years late? I think you already saw it, but the roadster is back in Cali where it probably belongs. Great car and went to another great owner. Had to sell it to fund the 32 build. :)

Finally back to working on this car. Had 2 kids in the mean time but am starting to find some time to build again :) Metal work is mostly complete.

And started to mock up the front so I can see how much room I have for the engine. 20230715_145736.jpg 20230723_162011.jpg

wish I could take credit, but a buddy and 2 good local shops have done a lot to get it where it is now. I try to do what I can, but I don't have a planishing hammer or the skills to use one yet. I'm happy to do what I can.

Alberta is pretty dry, so you can just leave it sit indoors and be ok

Looking good. An inspiration for sure! When done you’ll have to drive it over to Bruderheim and “Strong’s Garage”...

I Bought a 312 Y-Block from a fellow Hamber. It has a ECZ-6015-C block, ECZ-G heads that were rebuilt by Tim McMaster with hard seats, larger than stock (1.94/1.60) stainless valves, and fully pressurized high-ratio rockers. A big shout out to Modern Driveline for their expertise in driveline components to get the Y-Block hooked up to a T-5. And thanks to Kustom King in Spruce Grove for getting them dialed in. I'm going with cast valve covers later when its installed in the car.

Y block is mocked up but want to lower it about an inch. In order to that I have to find a water pump with a high-level fan location. Otherwise it interferes with the lower rad hose. 20240105_143434.jpg 20240105_143429.jpg I heard truck ones are different, so will start researching that a bit.

I haven't heard of a raised Y-Block water pump. Are you sure you aren't confusing it with a W (348/409) Chevy? They had big trucks with raised pumps.
If it turns out Ford did the same thing that would be interesting.
I personally would just raise the engine up to clear the hose. I have a 312 in my Model A and it doesn't have clearance issues up front. A 32 wouldn't be much different.

You should get yourself a single lower pulley and remove the spacer behind the fan. Then you can move the engine forward and gain some firewall clearance.
In my A I had to make a recess for the distributor, but I didn't have to completely cut the firewall away for the valve covers. Maybe you will get luck too.

Thanks! Yeah, there is a truck water pump that sits higher.

Thanks for the help. That would save some space for sure. Also thinking maybe an electric fan would help tons. I know it's not traditional, but could hide it with a nice rounded shroud?

I’m liking where this is going nice 32 and another Alberta HAMB car. Will look forward to seeing you put this together. Having 2 kids will slow you down at least that’s my excuse for taking 8 years to put my Roadster together

If your tig/ mig Aluminum, alter the lower radiator hose outlet that's on the driver side,
As move outlet 50/50 towards corner of tank , so half diameter of the outlet circumference is on side of tank ,
Or make a L ish shape square / box drop down then add round outlet ,again 50/50 corner of tank image.jpg
