It was popping pretty bad today. And backfire through the ram tubes. Also didn't Rev very smooth, kinda rough. Any ideas? I'm thinking it's timing, but I could be wrong!

Backfire up could be timing or too lean.

Thanks, I'm still trying to tune it! Is The Day of The Drags in Temple, just a drag race? Or is it a show also? Thinking of hauling the Willys up there, IF I can get it running better.

Thanks Man! I need it. Still thinking of leaving it as is for awhile. So I can get it running prefect, than tear her down for paint.
Still struggling with the injection, getting it right. Seems like one side is richer than the other!

Any Hydromatic guys following this thread?
My dad had a manual pull cable mounted on the dash that ran to the transmission. I'm guessing this is normally attached to the carb, like A TV cable?
I'm going to replace it, basically just a newer version of what he had, is there a certain setup procedure for this?

My truck has a B&M hydro in it, it has a lever cable to pull it into race mode, that goes to the trans, what kind of hydro do you have?

CGkidd, I could use a copy of that page in the B&M book too, I would like to know how to hook up a cable on my Hydro Stick too.

ALLSTEELWILLYS, can you post pictures of how you set yours up when you install it?

Thanks, this is one of the make or break set ups for running a Hydro from what I know. It's either throttle linkage, or I have heard of the cable set up, but personally have not seen one operational, so this has my interest peaked for sure.

I still can't decide if I want to mount the handle of the cable to the floor pan by my shifter, or on the dash like it was.

Cable linkage at transmission. Guessing this is a aftermarket piece, comparing it to the stock linkage on my spare transmission.

So a cable just like a choke cable hooks to this arm, and you just pull it wide open before you start driving? Or how are you applying how much cable you are pulling in?

Yes basically. My dad pulled it all the way, for drag racing. So the trans thinks you are at wide open throttle.

I got the new master and wheel cylinders installed and bleed. Now to drive it and see if stops any better.
Now making a bracket to attach the trans cable, the original wasn't very nice looking.

    Happy New Year!
Fired up the car today! BUT once it warned up it died. Like it ran out of fuel. The last time I ran it, it did the same thing. It won't restart either, it will run off fuel when I shoot it down the manifold though. Any ideas?

Gas cap vented? Try leaving the gas cap off next time and see if that works.

The fuel tank is vented. I have a 6an vent hose. But I'll try leaving the cap open next time
