Love every inch of this Rocket Ship. Watched the painstaking restoration, a few years back. Was a heap of junk, when they found it. Worth every penny. IMHO piece of Custom history. https://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/dealer/oldsmobile/88/1883902.html
Cool engine and interior, except for the gas pedal. Way too many things going on visually for me. The top is interesting, the hood is too massive above the grille, It looks like they just threw parts and ideas from other cars at it, and one set of tail lights is enough, thank you.
I like it, and it does have documented history which is nice. I just wonder if there is a market for it at that price. It's unfortunate, but there's not a whole lot of buyer-desire for far-out customs like this right now. They're not en vogue right now, they're under appreciated in my opinion. Best of luck to the seller though.
Built in 1963, which makes total sense of all the doo-dads. I think guys were "one-upping" each other back then to earn points at the shows. http://marquisautorestorations.com/cars-customs-street-rods/1954-oldsmobile-joannes-dream/
I think if they left it a hardtop rather than make an El-Camino, this car would be a lot more well received. It's hard for me not to hate the roof line.
Beautiful restoration. While there are way too many design ideas on the car, it does make me smile to see this crazy period piece brought back to such a high standard.
Very cool! I like the original version better than what they did in the 70s. Glad they brought it back. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
