^^ That is a '58, although I would like to see how that same treatment would look on the '59.

I always thought the turn signals look like a couple big 'ol warts..... An afterthought. Especially from the side view. And the bumper sits up too high in relation to the rockers, making it harder to look low.

But I like how the Edsel looks clean, not bulbous on the corner. And has a rectangular turn signal. Plus sits a little lower.

Put Edsel bumper ends on a Ford bumper and some kind of chin pan, that's the look I'm trying to find....kinda like a 60 Olds

I love this look, and I might be nitpicking, but my only issue is with how tall the bumper assembly is on the '57 Chevy and how it plays out on the Ford. The Fords are fairly trim in front, and have a neat look where the bottom of the bumper is higher off the ground than the rocker. By adding the deeper '57 Chevy bumper, it adds some weight to the front, sort of like a fat lower lip. If they moved this bumper up 2 inches and borrowed the space from the upper surround, it might be one of the best treatments yet.

  7. I like mine the way it is since the bumper and grill are in good shape. I had it all apart, got the rust off the back of the bumper and painted it argent silver (wheel paint) since I had it around.

Ad me to the list of the Desoto front end treatment. As a kid I remember a 58 in some hot rod mag that had a Desoto grill. Always thought it was the coolest looking front end ever. I see someone posted a 59 with the same treatment here. Looks good on that one too.

  9. I always liked the look of the stock front end- haven't really seem any on here that actually improve the look other than to change it-

The 58 Ford bumper is similar to the 58 T-bird bumper

Thanks I fixed Henrys problems. The engine is warmed over and I have a fully synchronised transmission with overdrive and self adjusting, self energizing brakes.

  25. This isn't my car - I think it belongs to a fellow HAMBer, but this is what I have planned for my '59. It's a Packard number without the dagmars.

Tuck's '59 (mentioned earlier in this thread) is my favorite as far as front ends on '59 Fords g0.

This '59 Watson did in the mid '60s looks good to me as well, dig that color.

    That is just right, thanks.

  29. I love one too. That's Don Loster's car that Watson painted a couple times. It was a candy red prior to being painted green. He also has the rear tail lights frenched and some kind of a custom roll pan on it.

Kustoms Illustrated had a write up on this awhile back, issue #23 maybe.

    Here's a photochop I did awhile back. it's a 1959 Buick grille.
I removed the parking lights in the bumper and nestled 2 small chrome bullets in the openings. 59Ford02b.jpg
