I cant believe its Friday already! I went with friends to Leon's junkyard this week. I respected, his request not to take photos. Very hard to do! That place is a goldmine, for cool vintage rusty car photos. So I will try and do a new Junkyard sketch today. But for now I'll post a couple old ones. Rusty I hope you post some of your Rusty Ones! And maybe someone has an old Rusty car photo? Thanks Ron...

Hello,

When I was in college in San Jose, I had plenty of time to think (between classes and a ton of homework) back to our old drag racing days at Lions. I went to the Fremont drags a couple of times, but it was just not the same. I had a 1965 red El Camino and thought it would make a cool looking street/drag race platform. Even with the empty space out in the back end. Of course, the 327 SBC would have a 671 tuned for the street. Then, I thought of my old 40 Ford Sedan Delivery from high school and how to modify it to look really cool. Slight chop, tube headers, low buck, no money, college student dreams…Next step, European Scrambles and desert, Hare and Hound racing???

I haven't taken part of one these in years. This summer I was heading home from a concert in my 63 and I had my camera gear in the trunk. So when I saw that there was a thunderstorm in the distance but clear skies in my area I figured it was time to try a shot I'd always wanted.

It was a long exposure, hence the multiple cloud to cloud lightning and the stars that moved ever so slightly. The car was lit with the flashlight from my iPhone, walking around the car painting it with with light. That was fun.

Having a little fun this week. I've always enjoyed playing around with ideas for early trucks and cars to see if I could come up with a concept that might be an improvement over the original design. Here's my rendering of how a spinoff of the 62 Chevy Suburban might have looked.....Introducing Superwagon

You guys have some amazing talent. I am more of a hack but I like to share once in a while. I did this about 30 years ago as an experiment of adding neon tubes to car art. The idea of a night garage scene lit by the overhead light came up and I painted this

Never did hook up the light except for a brief test but I did notice my taste in hot rods hasn't changed much over the decades. Duvall windshield, steelies, big and littles, peep mirrors, 4 bars. The color?...that was cool 30 years Not sure were I was going with that grey frame on the car or around the picture, LOL.
