How about a before and after pic? Like someone asked earlier we would enjoy hearing about what it took to get it polished...

  10. o_O Sell them to young guys trying to keep the history going of early hotrods. Intakes look better on cars than walls. This hotrod world needs less hoarders.

Holy CFM, Batman! That is a lot of fuel. Pretty neat nonetheless.

  17. I have an original Eddie Meyer and an original slingshot. Both great intakes. I have read the slingshot was the best performing 2x2 manifold

image.jpg image.jpg I have two current favourites! Firstly a four carb sharp intake which is heavily ported and came from the Brunker collection who had a lot of Steve McQueen and Von Dutch stuff. And second is a locally made Oz intake, Jaden , I,m going to try run on a stroker engine .

Almost every hot rodder with a flathead powered hot rod and another flathead engine or two in his garage has a few flathead intakes hanging on the wall! Having a few different intakes is part of the flathead lore and goes hand in hand with owning and running a flathead. I would guess that most of the flathead guys on here would have a few different intakes lying about in the garage, or on the wall, or both. A flathead 2X2, 3X2 or even a 4X2 intake manifold to me just shouts out traditional hot rod and I think they are just plain cool to look at and to own. So now I am really confused! If we all have a few flathead intakes are we all still traditional hot rodders or are we now all hoarders? Bored and Stroked; you did a fantastic job of polishing that Eddie Meyer manifold. I can't see a pit or a mark on it anywhere.

Agree. I won't show you a picture on my wall since I don't want to be accused of being a hoarder. Some guys look at dirty girlie mags. Me? I get a thrill looking at the manifolds hanging on the wall. Always looking for something new to add. Some were sold to purchase other parts and some were added because I had to have it. All part of different strokes for different folks I guess.

  29. When I originally found the manifold it had been polished years ago. Then before I built this engine (1.5 years ago), I had Andy Tantes polish it again (he did a really nice job). Then I hand polished it twice since then to remove small swirl marks and also seal the metal with some special metal polish. Also, the quality of the casting was very nice to begin with - that makes things a lot easier. In the end, just a lot of work to get to this stage . . . but worth it on this manifold as it has a lot of nice rounded curves . . .
