Well it's been a minute but I have another tri-5 project... 56' belair post this time around. It did arrive as a runner/driver but it is in need of some serious love. Plan is like others in the past, ditch the junk and build a cool 60's style hot rod. Got a stash of parts cool vintage parts waiting.. But motor/trans coming out soon, freshen up the frontend, then rearend.. Then button up the few small issues with the body.

Pretty neat start what are you going to do for the engine in your period perfect ride ?

  4. Props to you for surviving an entire minute without a tri 5. Not something I could do.
Awaiting more pix on this build.

I like that. Black steel wheels, www, gray primer, looks just like what a bucks down fella would drive circa 1962-ish. I'd wheel that 'as is' all day long. The 327 (or 301) mentioned is right on the money. My self, I think a '56 minus the front bumper is one of the tuffest period looks of all time. Damn things were designed for it...:D

Cool car! Congrats to your purchase! I´m with the 327 guys, but love 301s too! Here´s my 56, it also has a 327 , .040 over, 2.02/1.60 camel humps, L2166nf pistons, it goes forward pretty well . Have fun with your build, I´ll hang around watching it!

Awesome. I'm gonna start with what I have and slowly build a screamer.

    Hi Sled

Yep it needs a 301 with the Duntov cam and you will be spot on the money, as that what was in my Met Gold 57' Bel Air IMG_0001.jpg
The two tone green 56' above is just right as that is the way we had them out here in so-cal, and believe me nobody had a primed car we all wanted good looking paint on out rides while we were cruising the Bob's Big Boys

Thank you D.N.D.! When I started building it in 2001 I didn't know much about traditional or period correct , I was only 25 back then.
