It is interesting at how many cars didn't have a dropped headlight bar back in the day.

  7. I don't, I took that pic in Pismo a couple weeks ago. The sedan is Dave Mehelich's in Wenatchee WA. I stopped by his place a couple weeks before that

Mehelich has some VERY cool cars. Been trying to find out about that white 3 window, car looks like it has some serious history.

Get out there even if you only get an hour or so. It sucks to finish one when you are too old to drive. LOL.

I sometimes did not touch mine for two years,.. that happened more than once...
Just go at it, they all look great going down the roads, and they do not need to be 100% perfect. IMO

I do every chance I can get but still have a long way to go. (Sorry no fenders in this shot) :) I will do a build thread when I am a little farther along.

Build thread "now" is motivational; everyone will ask for the updates :) That center X looks great. That car will not flex when you tie the center point together.

  15. LOL. That's one of my dad's photos that I posted on my website. I had bought a scanner that had a slide adapter, so I could save some of his slide images to my computer.

Just sharing the pic. This pic looks good but the car is to much a street rod for my tastes.

  19. It's an old hot rod...my buddy, Greg Lazzerini, found it and brought it back to life. Traditional Rod and Kulture Illustrated #28 has an article on it.

    Hello,

This chopped 34 coupe was the epitome of mean and cool at the same time. When it started, it was also loud. A lot of racers during this time took the fenders off for their race cars, this one did not and competed with a powerful group of cars. Sorry, I did not get a shot at Riverside racing, although it was accessible in the pits. But, I did film it racing in the eliminations at Bakersfield in 1960 at the Smokers meet. Full fenders, wire wheels, chopped top, etc…lots of attitude…

  21. The '34 is Jim Miles (Magic Muffler) first fuel coup. The engine later spit the crank out on the line at LIONS in Jim's Fiat.

    Hey Dean,
Thanks for the information...you have come through again...That 34 was one of my favorites and we were surprised that they were at Bakersfield in 1960. Oddly, we never saw it at Lions. Many other fuel coupes, but, sadly, not the red, 34 at Lions for us.
    Thank you,
    Junji

Thanks, it is only traditional in appearance.Any closer inspection would reveal it is not Hamb friendly .

  27. I don't care...it's cool as it can be. Just don't mention it too loud. My wife is from Pass Christian, we'll be back some day. Tim
