Great job so far! I really like your details. Even though most will never notice, you know they're there and that's what counts. Thanks sharing.

  10. Thank you! Haha yep, there's a lot of that but like you said I know they're there and that's what matters!

  11. Drivers side quarter panel is done. Man that was a lot of work! A total of 3 quarter panels and 3 patch panels to make one solid quarter panel. Glad that's over!

Used the back half of this quarter panel
    ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1477957823.434488.jpg

    Patching it up

    ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1477957983.626934.jpg

Had to pie cut in the middle of the new corner patch and add to it and reshape the bead cause it was too small (of course)

The original quarter panel, the back half was really beat up and for some reason had a bunch of cuts in it?

Time to start bringing these two pieces together

    ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1477958593.882832.jpg

All fitted and tacked in place
    ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1477958671.057353.jpg

Time to fix the chop. The previous owner didn't do a very good job at chopping it, atleast to our standards anyway. So we re did the chop with a better top piece .
    ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1477958734.980728.jpg

And for some reason someone cut this piece like this? Not sure why anyone would need to cut it like that, so we had to fix that too.

Quarter panel is done! Now it's time to sandblast and seal it. That was a lot of cutting, welding, and test fitting. This car will now be known as "Frankenstein" haha

  12. It's amazing the amount of work some of us go to in order to (re)create one good, solid body to build a Hot Rod.

    Great work there!

I look at it like this...those pieces were too good to throw away, so someone had to save them, right? may as well be us.

''Father and son, we do it all'' X 1000!

(Though I know that you're are doing all the work, Nathan.)

Are you going to upholster it yourself too?

It's gonna be so neat to see your coupe on the road!

My little brothers and I assembled an A coupe body out of many pieces. When we were done it had parts from 13 different donor bodies in it. We called ours Frank too.

  19. Just had a chance to read through the whole thread. Astounding work!
