  19. I don't see anything ratty about it. Not one skull or stop sign was used in the building of this hot rod.

I like it!....it's got some serious patina:D........just a different way of building an old hot rod without all the glitz, perfect bodywork and paint....I can appreciate the use of all those old parts, and keeping it 'unique' from everyone else's....AND it doesn't have spider-webs, skulls, superman logo's and rodent attire....probably not everyone's cup o' tea to be sure, but hey....it's definitely got a presence to it, and I think it's pretty interesting, and I can appreciate the focus & build....a real head-turner at the very least!

  25. Rust is not patina.

This car is pretty cool if you ask me- I saw it run on the beach in N.J. and also at the shop where it lives.
Maybe some people don't like the un-painted surface rust, but to label it a " rat rod" is bullshit.
The builder spent a lot of time gathering "real" parts from the right era and left them in their
"natural" state. If you think that's thrown together, try it yourself.

according to Wikipedia: "Patina" is any such acquired change of a surface through age or oxidation....think rust would qualify;)

Absolute "eye candy" to me! There are many disciplines we can choose to apply in this hobby and this example has nailed this one IMHO.

Nicely fabbed and simple. Perhaps a little more rust then I prefer but cool none the less. Excellent pics.
